A Cornish Potter, based in Zürich
Hi there! I'm Rhiannon, the face behind Enya Pottery. Why the name Enya? Well, it's my middle name and I thought it was finally time for it to have its moment in the spotlight. Originally from Cornwall UK, I've called Switzerland home for the past nine years, and in April 2026 I set up my own studio in a shared artist space here in Zürich. I mainly throw stoneware, making functional pieces that are meant to be used every day. I like to work with a British clay that has a similar composition to a local Cornish clay, which keeps me connected to home while I'm here in Switzerland.
Some of my biggest inspiration comes from Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada, whose friendship crossed half the world and shaped both British studio pottery and Japan's Mingei movement. I've been lucky enough to take classes at the Leach Pottery and learn from potters in Japan, and that connection between the two places is something I try to channel into my work. My wish is that my pots become the objects that you reach for as part of your daily rituals.
